Mei Mac

Mei is currently starring as the lead role 'Mei' in MY NEIGHBOUR TOTORO, co-produced by the RSC, Improbable, Studio Ghibli & Nippon TV. She originated the role in the world premiere in 2022 and has received Olivier Award and WhatsOnStage Award nominations for her performance. 

Earlier in 2023, Mei starred in Kimber Lee's UNTITLED F*CK M*SS S**GON PLAY at the Young Vic and Manchester Royal Exchange which was directed by Roy Alexander Weiss.

Prior to that, Mei starred as the lead Ling in new series COMEDY CENTRAL'S EAST MODE. She was also the guest lead in the Christmas Special of CALL THE MIDWIFE for the BBC. 

Mei has extensive theatre experience and has worked with RSC, Young Vic, Bridge Theatre and Shakespeare's Globe.
