Louise is a standout in the pitch-dark comedy SUCH BRAVE GIRLS, which has just won the BAFTA TV Award for Scripted Comedy, portraying series regular Deb. Directed by Simon Bird for Jesse Armstrong's Various Artists Ltd and A24, Loo shines as a non-loving mother on the edge.
In addition to her role in SUCH BRAVE GIRLS, Louise can now be seen as the lead in Janis Pugh's film CHUCK CHUCK BABY (BBC Films / BFI), a chicken factory musical love story. Screen International describes it as “A big-hearted, crowd-pleasing tale of love, liberation, and female empowerment… As plaintive as a country western ballad, the gritty, feel-good Chuck Chuck Baby should delight romantics and introduce the work of Janis Pugh to a much wider audience.”
With a career spanning drama and comedy, Loo starred as Hazel in the BAFTA-nominated Sundance hit BRIAN AND CHARLES and as series regular Joplin in Joe Cornish's action-adventure series LOCKWOOD & CO for Netflix.
She also starred as Cass in both series of BACK with David Mitchell and Robert Webb, played Beatrix in Two Brothers Pictures' THE WIDOW alongside Kate Beckinsale, and portrayed series regular Gillian Chamberlain in the fantasy drama A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES (Bad Wolf). Louise played series regular Jude in Series 1 of BBC's hit drama CLIQUE and joined Series 3 of BBC's RIPPER STREET as regular Dr. Amelia Frayn.
Loo is widely remembered for her role as Molly Hooper in four series of BBC's SHERLOCK, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.
In her extensive stage career, Loo's credits include HUSBANDS AND SONS (Marianne Elliot / National Theatre), CONSTELLATIONS (Michael Longhurst / Trafalgar), THE HERD by Rory Kinnear (Howard Davies / Bush Theatre), BIRTHDAY (Roger Michell / Royal Court Theatre), and the titular role in LITTLE NELL (Peter Hall / Theatre Royal Bath).
