Alex Lawther

Alex Lawther is currently shooting a lead role in the new FX series ALIEN, directed by Noah Hawley.

He recently made his directorial debut with his short film FOR PEOPLE IN TROUBLE and can currently be seen in the Disney+ series ANDOR opposite Diego Luna.

On stage, he most recently performed the title role in Robert Icke’s Hamlet in New York.

He is perhaps best known for his starring role in the Channel 4 / Netflix dark comedy series THE END OF THE F*CKING WORLD, which became a cult hit with glowing reviews. He appeared in Wes Anderson’s THE FRENCH DISPATCH alongside Timothee Chalamet, Bill Murray and Tilda Swinton and in Ridley Scott’s THE LAST DUEL opposite Jodie Comer, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. He also starred in Stephen Daldry’s THE JUNGLE at St. Ann’s Warehouse. In 2017, Alex appeared in Fox Searchlight’s GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN for Simon Curtis opposite Margot Robbie and Domhnall Gleeson as well as Kenneth Lonergan’s BBC/Starz adaptation of E.M. Forster’s HOWARDS END opposite Hayley Atwell.

Alex portrayed young Alan Turing in the Academy Award-winning feature THE IMITATION GAME, for which he won the 2014 London Critic’s Circle Award for “Young British Performer of the Year.” He can also be seen in a leading guest star role in the third season of the critically-acclaimed Netflix anthology drama series, BLACK MIRROR, for director James Watkins in 2016. In 2011, Alex appeared on stage as ‘Blakemore’ in SOUTH DOWNS, earning him ‘Best Newcomer’ at the What’s OnStage Awards. In 2015, Alex returned to the stage in CRUSHED SHELLS AND MUD, receiving critical acclaim for his performance in both British Theatre and the Evening Standard.
