Adrian Shergold was born in London, where he trained as an actor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After eight years, Adrian started to direct, first at Theatre Royal Stratford East and then at The Soho Theatre, where he took over from the late Verity Bargate. He has also directed for 7.84 Theatre and directed plays for the Edinburgh Festival.
Adrian then trained at the BBC as a TV and Film Director, where he went on to direct many award-winning television films including HOLDING ON, BIRTHS MARRIAGES AND DEATHS and FIONA'S STORY.
Drama series credits include THE SECOND COMING and the smash-hit series MAD DOGS for Sky as well as the highly acclaimed films CLAPHAM JUNCTION for Channel 4, LOW WINTER SUN and PERSUASION for ITV.
Adrian's feature films are PIERREPOINT starring Timothy Spall, FUNNY COW starring Maxine Peake and Paddy Considine, DENMARK (2019) starring Rafe Spall and CORDELIA (2019) starring Johnny Flynn and Antonia Campbell Hughes.
Adrian's most recent television credits include WOLFE, the forensic crime comedy-drama series for Sky and THE WINDOW, set in the world of professional football for ZDF & Fuji, which was released on Amazon Prime.
Adrian has won many awards for his work including BAFTA’s and also film awards in Germany and France.
